We pride ourselves on making an American product. We use American labor and are proud supporters of American manufacturing. Although we source components (like hardware) from both foreign and domestic sources, we like to say, “Sewn in the USA is in our DNA.
Waxed-Canvas
Man, we love waxed-canvas! Historic, durable, beautiful, and cooler than cool. Waxed canvas is made from cotton impregnated with wax. It’s served time in both military and civilian life.
We get our waxed-canvas from Fairfield Textiles in New Jersey -- one of only three producers of waxed-canvas in the world. Fairfield makes the world famous Martexin Dry Wax and has been in continuous operation since 1838.
Leather
We source our leather from a small tannery in New England. Our leather distributor has been around since 1897, and gained notoriety for making leathers for artificial limbs for wounded civil war soldiers.
We use full-grain leather on all of our bags. In terms of quality, full-grain is considered to be the best type of leather. We love the character of full-grain leather. You’ll see bug bite, brand marks, etc.
Manufacturing
We partner exclusively with American based manufacturers. Our main factory is located in Chicago. They’ve been awesome partners who we’ve worked with for over 10 years.
Our new second factory is located in Florida.
