Our leather

We source our leather from a small tannery in New England. Our leather distributor has been around since 1897, and gained notoriety for making leathers for artificial limbs for wounded civil war soldiers.

Man, we love waxed canvas! Historic, durable, beautiful, and cooler than cool. Waxed canvas is made from cotton impregnated with wax. It’s served time in both military and civilian life.

One Challenge

Overall I like the bag. The Molle provides a lot of options and flexibility for holding the odds and ends (pens, chargers, cords, etc.). The only big challenge I have with the bag is the placement of the straps. Due to the full zipper design (which is a cool feature by the way), the straps don’t run along the side, they are on the back of the bag. The result is the bag is a bit “top heavy” when populated. Meaning it has a tendency to tilt over rather than lying flat when you walk. It is not a deal killer but I certainly find it annoying. For future iterations, I would love to see the built in Molle of the Tac-Sac with the more traditional connection points along the side.

Really Like the TacSac 15

I was worried that this would be too large going with the 15, but it's not. It's the perfect size for my laptop as well as essential office and EDC stuff. Excellent quality. Very nice materials. Enjoying it more everyday.

Very efficient

I was skeptical at first due to failed work bags unable to hold up. Luckily, nutsac provided what I needed for a reasonable price. I’m very happy with my purchase and I appreciate the quality and effort.

Great Bag with a Design Flaw

This bag was awesome in it's design and I fell in love with the side zipper feature the moment that I realized how functional it made the bag. To top it off, the bag is legitimately durable, made from waxed canvas with a duck weave, making it even more durable than standard waxed canvas. The leather is amazing too, full-grain, which means it was processed immediately when it came off the animal. I poured a lot of time into making sure that this bag was suitable for me, and it was. However, that was only in it's presentation, it's function would come to leave me disappointed and looking for other options. So, the flaw with this bag is that the quick access feature of the side zippers constantly becomes jammed because the strap is pulling on the bag. I'll include a picture for visual reference. I think the cause of this is due to the strap being a bit more toward the center of the bag, this causes any sort of weight to shift and disfigure the bag, as gravity pulls down on the bag. This impedes the design of the side zippers as well. Now, know that I can open the zipper, but it's impossible to close them once open and requires a good deal of fidgeting and holding the waxed canvas together just to get it to work. If the intention is quick access, it fails at half the task of being that, which is failing securely close, especially if your going at it with one hand. I have since downsized to the TacSac 13 and this issue is not present, probably a result of the strap connection being elevated toward the top of the bag, which also doesn't cause it cave in and look smushed. All in all, if you want more space and can look past the design flaw and smushed look, get this bag. It's minimalist and durable. Otherwise, I personally recommend the TacSac 13. You lose a small amount of space, but the design features are not impeded and work perfectly as well as preserving the look of the bag.
